On-Device First: We prioritize local processing on your iPhone/iPad whenever possible.

Local History: Your history stays on your device, not on our servers.

HiddenLine processes the content you explicitly share with the app to generate explanations, summaries, or insights. This includes:

Text Snippets: Shared or copied text from any application.
URLs & Links: Web addresses for summarization (including YouTube videos).
Media: Images (Photos) and Video clips you share for analysis.
Documents: PDFs and text-based files for document insights.

3. How We Process Data

To provide advanced AI features, HiddenLine uses Google Gemini via secure Firebase AI infrastructure.

Secure Cloud Processing

When content is sent to the cloud for processing:

Encryption: Data is transmitted using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS encryption.
Zero Training: Under our current configuration, your data is not used to train or improve Google's underlying AI models.
Immediate Deletion: Content is processed in memory and is not permanently retained on our servers after the explanation is generated.

4. Data Storage & Management

HiddenLine maintains a history of your explanations so you can refer back to them. This history is stored exclusively on your device within an App Group container.

User Control: You can delete individual items or clear your entire history at any time through the Settings menu.
iCloud: If you have iCloud backups enabled, your local history may be included in those backups according to your system settings.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party infrastructure to provide our services:

Firebase/Google AI: For providing the Gemini AI models that power our explanations.
Apple: For app distribution, crash reporting, and analytics (if opted-in via system settings).

6. Security Measures

We implement rigorous technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

Use of secure App Sandboxing on iOS/iPadOS.
Strict adherence to Apple's Human Interface and Privacy Guidelines.
Minimizing data points collected to the absolute necessity for processing.

HiddenLine is designed to be compliant with major privacy regulations including GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act). Since we do not collect personal identifiers, your "Right to be Forgotten" is as simple as deleting the app or clearing your local history.
